From a pastoral point of view, the 2008/2007 agro-pastoral campaign in the Sahel is developing satisfactorily. The heavy rains recorded in June allowed a renewal of the herbaceous carpet throughout the region. The approaches to water points and lowlands already provide enough fodder to allow large ruminants to graze. For small ruminants the food available is satisfactory. The level of the existing herbaceous carpet allows them to graze without problem and they also benefit from the leaves of shrubs and some trees.
